A Single Woman
"A Single Woman" is a film adaptation of the successful stage play about the life of Jeannette Rankin, America's first Congresswoman and co-founder of the American Civil Liberties Union. Suffragist, peace activist, and reformer, Jeannette changed the American political landscape forever. Unabashedly political, occasionally chilling, and entirely unique, "A Single Woman" illuminates the role of the individual in the American legislative process.
After the film screening, there will be a discussion panel featuring the film's director, Kamala Lopez, and other community leaders.
More information on the film and director can be seen at: www.asinglewomanmovie.com.
Cosponsored by:
The League of Women Voters, American Civil Liberties Union, Movies that Matter, UNLV Dept. of Women's Studies, UNLV Dept. of History, Phi Alpha Theta, and CSN Women's Studies Dept.
